Night of, Boating

Setting out of the office is proving a little more difficult these days.   I  managed to slip out unnoticed and spend some R&R with my family this past Monday evening.  We celebrated my brother's b-day out on his new sport cruiser boat - IT'S A SeaRay 290 Sundancer.  Complete with satellite radio/TV/internet, twin (that means two) 5.0L MPI engines, and a whole other set of features I can't possibly remember!

I think the best part of the trip were the boat stories...

Boat story #1 - The dealer where my bro bought his boat told him of a guy that came in and bought a similar model.  It looks like these boats are a little bigger and higher maintenance than the standard boat (just like my ex-girlfriend) so the dealer offers a little training time to help you figure it all out (not like my ex-girlfriend).  They show you how to launch the boat from a trailer, do boat specific tasks like how to have a nice talk in the conversation-friendly cockpit, and other things related to relaxing and adventure.  So this guy decides not to go through the training and he'll figure it all out on his own.  He had never owned a boat before.  The guy backs his truck down the boat ramp, puts the boat in the water and detaches the TRAILER from his truck.  He leaves the trailer attached to the boat!  The guy takes his boat around the lake and can't figure out why it's not trimming down.  After a week he calls the dealer back to say that something's wrong with his new boat...

Boat story #2 is sad so I didn't include it.

The End
