The Cloud:  Data on the go.

Cloud data storage is gaining in popularity, but many companies haven't jumped on it.  There are cloud data storage pros and cons.  A recent survey found that almost 90% of companies have no plans for hosted cloud data storage, but expect that to change.  With almost anything new, the market will tip-toe in first.  It's a relatively new concept, and users have questions about cost and the technology itself.   Follow us at The Old State and we'll keep you up-to-date on the subject.

Paying with your phone?!  Bank on it.

Yep…that's right.  There are many technologies either already coming into play or in development.  The two main ones are SMS payments and Near Field Communications (NFC).  There's also TextPayMe, Obopay, M-Enale, Mytango and BillmyCell.  Yes, the credit card and paper money may someday go the way of the dinosaur and the 8 track tape.

Fame Game:  Going Gaga for online newsletters and press releases.

Good things come to those who don't wait….and to those who don't wait for the old line media to embrace them.  Newsletters and press releases can go viral worldwide with a few keystrokes….and the world is then your stage, and your oyster!  Take charge of your brand by keeping the customer informed on a global scale, 24 hours a day.  We can help you.

iPhone 4.  Bugs are bugging us.

Don't get me wrong, we love Apple and Steve Jobs.  But he recently proved he's human by putting the antenna around the bottom and along the outside of the new iPhone.  You know, right where your hand goes when talking or texting or surfing the web.  And yes, I have wanted to throw mine against the wall many times too if it drops one more call mid-sentence with a client.  But expect these bugs to be worked out.  Why didn't Apple put the antenna around the TOP of the phone where the hand isn't as likely to cover it?  We love you Steve Jobs, but watch it next time.  And as big as AT&T is, you'd think they'd have a better network by now.  We're beginning to think AT&T stands for All our Telephone's are Tankin'.
