Jessica Hische Rocks The Alphabet

erhaps one of the most challenging aspects of design is typography. It takes a special touch to get all those little letters to look right together. One of the best at doing so is Jessica Hische. She has the uncanny ability to take letterforms, twist them to her will and command them to do her bidding. The result is masterpieces of typography that simultaneously bring tears to my eyes and fill me with a jealous rage.

In addition to creating face-meltingly awesome posters, ads, illustrations, and magazine layouts, Jessica has somehow found the time to create her own beautiful typefaces like Buttermilk (probably so-named because it is, in fact, like butter...I'm not the only one who thinks so). She also found it fit to bestow some of her talents on the rest of us via the Daily Drop Cap blog. I included one of those drop caps on this very blog post...thanks Jessica!

  • @Thinkstock~May/14/2010 ~ Jessica's work is really beautiful! It's tough to find someone so adept at handling type.
