I just returned from an action packed weekend in Indianapolis where I saw two spectacular Dave Matthews Band showswell it was more like one and a half but it sure felt like two!!! One of my dearest friends Marc bought tickets for my lovely wife and I sometime back in April and I was counting down the days till it was showtime. There is quite a history with my friends and Dave Matthews Band concerts. We use to travel every summer and catch a few shows here and there but due to unfortunate circumstances, (lack of money & time mainly) I have not been able to join in the fun since 2002. So needless to say I am very much behind on the number of shows I have seen. My buddy Marc has seen over thirty shows now and I was at his first show in Albuquerque back in 2001.
I have never seen Tim play with Dave so that was quite a treat.
I have only been to nine shows including these two so I have some serious catching up to do. I had the pleasure of taking my beautiful wife Julia with me on this trip and it was her first real Dave show. We had a blast the whole weekend, which just seemed like one long day. My buddy had a friend of his pick us up from the airport on Friday night and drive us straight to the show. We got to the show at ten and Marc was so sad because he thought the show was about to end but Dave surprised us with another hour and a half of old school jams. I felt like a kid again and I danced my little heart off to the sweet sound of Dave Matthews. I was even more excited when I learned that Tim Reynolds was on stage as well. I have never seen Tim play with Dave so that was quite a treat. On Saturday Dave played about a three hour set which included great songs like Grey Street, Crush, Lie in Our Graves, and even Money by Pink Floyd. I gotta say that it was quite an amazing set and I cant wait till he comes to Dallas on August 16th because I will be there.
