Well, it's official. Woodall Rodgers Park Project has chosen The Old State House of Design and Development to plan, design and develop a new website for the park. The Old State beat out a number of other web development firms based on our expertise in designing and developing large-scale e-commerce and social networking business systems. Woodall Rodgers Park Project needed a website that will initially present the anxious public with instant info and eventually scale to include a "Town Square" where community members can interact to plan park outings, make friends and more.

The new Woodall Rodgers Park Project website will allow users to view live web cams of the construction and park activity along with providing up to date information and RSS Feeds on timelines, fundraising efforts, park events and community involvement. One unique feature will allow visitors to donate to Woodall Rodgers Park on behalf of their friends and family, designating funds for a specific area like 2 swings for the childrens playground or 1 mile of the jogging trail.

The Old State was present for the Woodall Rodgers Park Project Press Conference and Open House on April 30, 2009 with an impressive panel including Mayor Tom Leppert, City Councilwoman Angel Hunt, Larry Taylor for Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson and John Crawford, CEO of DOWNTOWNDallas. The panel fielded questions from the press and released some groundbreaking news that the park is planning to use a solar farm to collect more than enough energy for all park resources, which will bring worldwide attention, as it will be the largest planned of its kind.

We are currently planning the new site and are looking forward to diving into the design. More updates soon!
